10 years ago, on September 25, 2014, the 'Make in India' initiative was launched, and it is now celebrating its decade of success. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reaffirmed his commitment to making India "a hub of manufacturing and innovation."

Prime Minister's Message

In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Modi stated, "Today, we mark #10YearsOfMakeInIndia. I commend all those who have been tirelessly working to make this movement a success over the last decade. 'Make in India' reflects the collective resolve of 140 crore Indians."

Economic Growth

Modi highlighted that exports have increased across various sectors, capacity has been built, and this has strengthened the economy. He emphasized, "The Government of India is committed to encouraging 'Make in India' through all possible means."

Union Minister's Statement

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, in an interview with PTI, noted that 'Make in India' has promoted both domestic and foreign investment in the country. He remarked, "We have achieved significant success, and a bright future awaits the manufacturing sector."

Employment and Development

Goyal also mentioned that many large investment plans are in the pipeline under 'Make in India,' which will create millions of jobs and expand the manufacturing contribution to the economy. He expressed confidence that the share of manufacturing will increase in the coming years.

Goals of 'Make in India'

The 'Make in India' initiative aimed to facilitate investment, foster innovation, build world-class infrastructure, and establish India as a hub for manufacturing, design, and innovation.

'Vocal for Local' Initiative

Goyal added that the program's unique 'Vocal for Local' initiatives have promoted India's manufacturing sector on a global scale.
