A doctor in New York City has been accused of drugging patients and videotaping sexual assaults on them
A 33-year-old New York City gastroenterologist is facing several charges for allegedly raping and sexually assaulting several women, some of whom were his patients at a Queens hospital.

Zhi Alan Cheng, a New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital employee, was arraigned on Monday on a 50-count indictment accusing him of raping three women in his Astoria apartment and sexually abusing three hospital patients between June 2020 and December 2022.
Cheng was arrested and sacked from his hospital in December after a woman filed a police report accusing him of drugging, raping, and videotaping her at his residence.
The new indictment, announced by Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, also alleges that Cheng not only used drugs to sedate and assault women but also recorded himself doing so.
These videos were found by investigators after one alleged victim discovered the recordings in the gastroenterologist’s apartment. It included a video of herself and other women being assaulted, according to the statement released by District Attorney Katz’s office.
Authorities also stated that when they searched Cheng's flat, they seized narcotics such as fentanyl, ketamine, cocaine, LSD, and MDMA, as well as hospital sedatives such as propofol and sevoflurane.
The D.A.'s office listed video evidence of Cheng touching a 19-year-old patient, a "seriously ill" 47-year-old patient, and engaging in sexual intercourse and abuse inside the hospital.
While he is now being charged based on video evidence depicting the abuse of six women, the D.A. alleges that there is further video evidence showing Cheng assaulting other women in Westchester County, Manhattan, Las Vegas, the San Francisco area, and Thailand.
Cheng's lawyer did not reply quickly to a request for comment.
