Parliamentary security breach accused have given the information that their motive behind the act was to gain media attention because they were planning to form a political party.
The incident of security breach
On the anniversary of the 2001 parliamentary attack of December 13, the nation saw another security breach when two people jumped from the visitor's balcony into the ongoing Lok Sabha discussion with canisters shocking the whole nation.
Even though the act was not deadly, it was a major mishap in the new parliament, raising questions about the security arrangement of the parliament.
During the ongoing Lok Sabha session two individuals identifying as Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D jumped from the visitor's balcony into the chamber with canisters emitting yellowish smoke.
Several Members of the Parliament quickly took action and caught them. Both men were also shouting slogans.
Following this, another set of two individuals including Amol Shinde and Neelam were protesting outside the parliamentary building with canisters emitting yellow smoke.
The police have identified a total of 6 people in the case who were in close contact for the past 4 years and have the same ideology.
According to reports they were protesting against farmers' protests, Manipur violence, and unemployment.
The political plan
During the interrogation, Sagar Sharma, one of the two involved in the Lok Sabha act revealed that their motive was to gain media attention from this act as they intent to form a political party. They wanted their views to be put forward hence they formed this plan.
This plan was formed after cancelling a prior plan which could have even caused them physical harm. The accused earlier planned to set themselves on fire in front of parliament to gain media attention. They planned on using a gel that would prevent them from burning.
The investigator said “He said that in order to form a political party, they had to do something that would get them media attention. He said that they didn’t want to align with any other political party because their ideology didn’t match.”
This plan was canceled as they thought that this act would not attract as much media attention.
