Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar along with noted Indian film producer Vasu Bhagnani and leading industrialist Jeten Doshi arrived at the site where the BAPS Hindu temple is going to be built in Abu Dhabi. Akshay Kumar arrived at the temple construction site at 8:00 am, where he was welcomed with a garland of flowers by Swami Brahmaviharidas, head of the BAPS Hindu temple.
Both Akshay Kumar and Brahmavihari Swami expressed their gratitude to the President of the United Arab Emirates HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his generosity and vision and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi’s continued support for the construction of this spiritual site..Akshay Kumar and the delegation enthralled by the work of the temple. climbed on As soon as we reached the top, we saw an attractive view of the temple.
Swami Brahmaviharidas took him to the site where 14 stories of international value of the ancient civilization would be carved – not found in any other temple around the world. There, he shared with them a story from the Babemba tribe in Africa; The story reflects the concept of Ubuntu, which translates to “humanity towards others”. If someone commits a crime in this tribe, the whole tribe stops its work and keeps the offender under siege for two days. During this time, they only praise the person while refusing to admit wrongdoing. The story touched Kumar’s heart, to which he said, “It is very touching”.
The exhibition gives a fascinating glimpse into the genesis of the temple, which was envisioned in 1997 by His Holiness the President Swami Maharaj through prayers for harmony and peace. The vision became a reality and the temple is set to open three decades later in February 2024, as a testament to the power of prayer as well as Seen as an answer to the universal prayer of millions for a more harmonious world.
Eager to understand the history of the temple, Akshay Kumar and his delegation were taken to the River of Harmony exhibition.
Akshay Kumar was amazed when Swami Brahmaviharidas unveiled the intricate carvings below the seven peaks of different deities. Carvings wrapped around the base of the temple depict the life story of the respective deity. Which shows the unique craftsmanship and devotion that went into the construction of the temple. The BAPS Hindu Temple is not only a testament to the power of human potential, but more importantly, it is a testament to tolerance, love and peace, and a symbol of hope for a brighter, more harmonious future.
Later, Akshay Kumar and the delegation attended a meeting of the temple’s board of directors and key volunteers. Here Swami Brahmaviharidas enthralled the audience with his speech sharing the magical history of the project’s conception and development.
