144th Mahakumbh: A Milestone for Sanatan Dharma, Says Rameshbhai Ojha
The ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj is not just any religious gathering; it marks a monumental event in Sanatan Dharma. Bhagwat storyteller and spiritual guru Rameshbhai Ojha emphasized its importance in an exclusive conversation with Gujarat First. He explained that this Mahakumbh is the culmination of 12 cycles of 12-year Kumbhs, a rare occurrence that happens only once in 144 years.
“This event will not happen again in the lives of those of us who are on earth now,” said Ojha. “It’s a time to understand our connection to the eternal and seek spiritual growth.”
The Search for the Eternal
Ojha described this Mahakumbh as "Amrit Kumbh," a time to search for the eternal amidst the mortal world. He advised participants to embrace the Amrit time, such as Brahma Muhurat in the early morning, for meditation, contemplation, and spiritual growth. “Whatever we think and do during this time brings extraordinary results, both spiritually and materially,” he added.
Time’s Influence on Spiritual Practice
Drawing parallels with nature, Ojha highlighted how timing affects outcomes. Just as crops thrive better when sown in the monsoon, spiritual practices performed during the Mahakumbh yield greater benefits. This is why this 144th Mahakumbh holds unparalleled glory.
Prayagraj: The King of Pilgrimages
Ojha referred to Prayagraj as "the king of pilgrimages," explaining its spiritual significance. He urged devotees to come not as mere pilgrims but as seekers, engaging in charity, satsang, and contemplation to truly make the Triveni bath meaningful. “The Ganges of devotion, the Yamuna of karma, and the unmanifest Saraswati of knowledge come together here,” he said, likening the discussions and spiritual discourses at Mahakumbh to the Saraswati river.
Reinforcing Faith in Sanatan Dharma
Ojha described the Mahakumbh as an opportunity to strengthen faith in Sanatan Dharma, likening it to watering a plant to help it grow into a tree. “These occasions nourish our faith and inspire us to follow eternal principles,” he said.
The 144th Mahakumbh is a once-in-a-lifetime event, inspiring millions to connect with their spiritual roots and embrace the eternal teachings of Sanatan Dharma.
