Abduction and Bonded Labor in Jaisalmer

Bhim Singh was abducted when he was just a child while returning from school with his sister. Strangers kidnapped them and took them to Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, where Bhim was forced to work as a bonded laborer. He spent years in a village, tending to sheep and goats. The kidnappers provided him with food only once a day and subjected him to regular physical abuse.

In an interview with ANI, Singh recalled his painful ordeal, explaining that he was often tied to a tree and given food only once in the evening. He added that he was frequently beaten. He also mentioned that one day, a kind person noticed his condition and dropped him off in Ghaziabad.

A Kind Stranger Helps Bhim Singh Escape

After years of suffering, Bhim's fate changed when a compassionate individual saw him in distress and helped him escape. Singh was dropped off in Ghaziabad, where he was found by the police. With their support, he was able to reconnect with his family after such a long separation.

Police Work and Social Media Help Lead to Reunion

When Bhim Singh approached the police, he was unable to remember his address or identify his hometown. However, after listening to his heartbreaking story, the police took action. They formed a team and shared Singh’s details on social media in hopes of finding his family.

ACP Sahibabad, Rajneesh Kumar Upadhyay, explained the efforts that led to the reunion. He mentioned that after they posted Bhim Singh's information on social media, many families contacted the police. One of those families was Tula Ram's, and Bhim immediately recognized them. This recognition led to an emotional and tearful reunion after 30 years of separation.

Ongoing Investigation

Although Bhim Singh is now back with his family, the police have stated that the investigation into his abduction and the circumstances surrounding his forced labor is still ongoing. The authorities continue to gather information and work to bring justice to the victim.
