 Action Taken Against 154 Stunt Performers After Viral Reels, Noida Traffic Police Imposes 37 Lakhs Fines

The Noida Traffic Police has cracked down on young people performing stunts in viral reels on social media. In the last 9 months, fines amounting to Rs 37 lakh have been issued against 154 vehicles. Police are identifying such individuals with the help of CCTV and social media and taking action against them.

Noida Traffic Police swung into action and identified these individuals

The police compiled a list of young people who were continuously violating traffic rules by making reels on the roads. In the last 9 months, the police have taken action against 154 vehicles, issuing fines worth Rs 37 lakh. These are considered to be the biggest fines issued so far.

Data Extracted from Viral Reels

This campaign was launched under the direction of the DCP Traffic, targeting all vehicles from March 1st to November 30th that endangered their lives and violated traffic rules while making reels and trying to become popular on social media.

The police also identified those whose videos were tagged to the traffic police on Instagram, Facebook, and X. All of them were identified, their numbers and vehicle owner data were retrieved, and challans were issued against all of them.

Strict Surveillance on Reel-Makers

DCP Traffic Dr. Praveen Ranjan stated that data from the past 9 months was compiled, and it was observed that various rules were violated, including driving vehicles without number plates, speeding, performing stunts, gathering crowds on the road, driving without seat belts, without helmets, making reels on busy roads after getting out of the vehicle.

Summary

Now, the Noida Traffic Police is keeping a close watch on these reel-makers. Further challans will be issued to them for violating traffic rules.
