April 2025 Bank Holidays: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has shared the list of bank holidays for April 2025. These holidays include national, regional, and religious observances. As holidays vary from state to state, it's important to know which dates affect banking services in your region.

Full List of Bank Holidays in April 2025
April 1 (Tuesday) – Bank Closing Day / Sarhul
Banks across India will be closed for annual account closing. In Jharkhand, Sarhul, a tribal festival, is also observed.
April 5 (Saturday) – Babu Jagjivan Ram’s Birthday
Banks will be closed in Telangana to honor the birth of this social reformer and freedom fighter.
April 10 (Thursday) – Mahavir Jayanti
Banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Telangana to celebrate Lord Mahavir’s birth.
April 14 (Monday) – Ambedkar Jayanti, Vishu, Bihu, Tamil New Year
A multi-festival day observed across most states (except Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh).
April 15 (Tuesday) – Bengali New Year, Himachal Day, Bohag Bihu
Banks will be closed in West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh.
April 18 (Friday) – Good Friday
A Christian holiday, observed in most Indian states except Tripura, Assam, Rajasthan, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, and Srinagar.
April 21 (Monday) – Garia Puja
Banks will remain closed in Tripura for this tribal celebration.
April 29 (Tuesday) – Parshuram Jayanti
Banks will be closed in Himachal Pradesh.
April 30 (Wednesday) – Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya
In Karnataka, banks will be shut to honor Basavanna and observe Akshaya Tritiya, a day considered lucky for wealth and gold purchases.
