Australia won the toss and chose to bat against India

Australia’s skipper Mitchell Marsh opted to bat first after winning the toss in the third ODI against India at the SCG, continuing their streak of dominating early decisions. This marked India’s 18th consecutive toss loss in the ODI format — an unusual and frustrating record for the visitors.

Aim for 3-0 Whitewash

Australia are eyeing a historic 3-0 series sweep, something they’ve never achieved against India in a bilateral men’s ODI series. With strong performances in Adelaide and Brisbane, Marsh’s men are determined to seal the series in style and build momentum ahead of their next assignments.

Team Changes for Both Sides

Australia made one change to their playing XI, with Nathan Ellis replacing Xavier Bartlett, who impressed in Adelaide with three crucial wickets, including Virat Kohli for a duck. India, meanwhile, brought in Kuldeep Yadav for his first appearance in the series and Prasidh Krishna in place of Arshdeep Singh.

Injury and Fatigue Concerns

All-rounder Nitish Reddy was ruled out due to a quadriceps injury suffered during the second ODI, while Arshdeep Singh and several other Indian players struggled with cramps in the previous match. The changes reflect India’s need to manage workload and bring fresh energy into the lineup.

Kohli and Rohit’s Final ODI in Australia?

This game could mark the last ODI appearance in Australia for veterans Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, making it an emotional outing for Indian fans. Both legends have played pivotal roles in India’s successes Down Under, and fans hope to see them finish this series on a high note.
