Bajaj Auto Rides on Export Wave in July 2025 Despite Domestic Slowdown

Bajaj Auto saw a modest 3% year-on-year growth in overall sales for July 2025, with total units reaching 3,66,000 — up from 3,54,169 units in July 2024. This slight increase was mainly powered by strong export performance, even as domestic demand continued to weaken.

Export Momentum Drives Growth

Bajaj Auto’s international business was the key growth driver last month. The company’s exports jumped by 28%, reaching 1,82,857 units in July 2025 compared to 1,43,172 units last year. Both the two-wheeler and commercial vehicle segments played a crucial role. Two-wheeler exports rose 22% to 1,56,968 units, while commercial vehicle exports saw a massive 79% spike, reaching 25,889 units.

Domestic Sales See a Dip

In contrast, the domestic market presented a challenging picture. Sales within India dropped 13% to 1,83,143 units in July 2025, down from 2,10,997 units a year ago. The decline was sharper in the two-wheeler category, which fell 18%, while commercial vehicles offered a slight silver lining with 4% growth.

April–July 2025 Performance

Looking at the bigger picture, Bajaj Auto sold 14,77,237 units in the April–July 2025 period — a marginal 1% rise from 14,56,225 units during the same months in 2024. Exports were again the hero, rising 19% to 6,59,286 units. However, domestic sales slipped 9% to 8,17,951 units.

Despite weak domestic momentum, Bajaj Auto’s strong export numbers — especially in commercial vehicles — show that the brand is making inroads in emerging global markets. This export strength is helping the company balance out local market softness.
