Bangladesh officially asked India for extradition of Sheikh Hasina, what else did it say?

Bangladesh has written a letter to the Indian government for the return of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the country.

Bangladesh: The Bangladesh officially requested India to send back Sheikh Hasina: For the first time, Bangladesh has officially appealed to send its former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina back to Dhaka, who left the country and came to India after being ousted from power after the movement on August 5.The Bangladesh Foreign Ministry Advisor Mohammad Tauhid Hussain gave information about this on Monday.

According to reports, Tauheed Hussain, Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh, said that this request has been made by our government to the Government of India.

Bangladesh asks India to extradite Sheikh Hasina

Talking to the media, Tauheed Hussain said, 'A note verbale has been sent to India requesting to send Sheikh Hasina back. Since the formation of Bangladesh, the army has staged a coup several times. On 15 August 1975, the Mujibur government was removed for the first time through a coup. Sheikh Hasina is his daughter. Who had to flee to save her life after the coup in August 2024.

Note has been sent to India- Tauheed Hussain

On August 5, Sheikh Hasina was ousted from power after a student-led movement reached its peak. More than 600 people were killed in that movement. 76-year-old Hasina had to flee the country and go to India. Later, an interim government was formed under the leadership of Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus.

Hasina had accused called Muhammad Yunus a mastermind killer

Recently, Hasina had accused the chief advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus, of being the 'mastermind' behind the student protests and called him a mastermind killer. Hasina said that the situation has not been normal till now because of the free hand given by Yunus to the fundamentalists to massacre Hindus and people of his party. Hasina had also alleged that the alleged movement was secretly designed to overthrow her government.

Will India agree?

According to a report in the Dhaka Tribune, Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam, while giving information about the government's note, said - 'Bangladesh has a prisoner exchange agreement with India. This will be done under the same agreement.' In such a situation, Mohammad Yunus's generals feel that the Indian government will be forced to accept the note written citing that treaty. However, there has been no response from New Delhi so far.

Hasina's big statement

Deposed Prime Minister Hasina called the Yunus government fascist and said, 'The common people of Bangladesh are being deprived of their rights. Bangladesh is going through a difficult time. Bangladesh is burning... the country is being destroyed'. Referring to the sedition case and arrest of former ISKCON priest Chinmay Krishna Das by the Yunus government, Hasina said that they do not even have a lawyer to defend Das against the allegations, which is proof that there is no law and order in Bangladesh.

'Bangladesh's coup history'

The Bangladeshi army has staged coups several times. The first coup took place on 15 August 1975 when the Mujibur government was removed. Sheikh Hasina is his daughter.
