Khesari Lal Yadav

Khesari Lal Yadav’s entry into electoral politics appears to be facing an early setback. The Bhojpuri film star is trailing BJP candidate Chhoti Kumari by 2,094 votes in Bihar’s Chhapra constituency, making his poll debut tougher than expected.

Party Performance Dip

Khesari Lal Yadav’s struggle mirrors the larger performance of his party, which is leading in only 28 seats despite fielding 143 candidates—the highest number among major political fronts this election.

Ram Mandir Controversy

Before the elections, Khesari Lal Yadav—also known as Shatrughan Yadav—found himself caught in a controversy following his remarks about the Ram Mandir. The issue sparked a political storm just days before polling.

Clarifying His Stand

Responding to criticism, the 39-year-old clarified that his statement highlighted the importance of education over political symbolism. He stressed that while the Ram Temple is a matter of faith, development depends on education.

Public Explanation

On the first day of polling, Yadav said he never intended to hurt religious sentiments. He explained that his point was simple: temples and mosques matter, but the nation’s future depends on strong education systems for children.

Reiterating His View

Yadav went further while speaking to ANI, saying, “I have built everything with hard work. Devotion is one thing, but education shapes a country. Build temples or mosques, but also work for children’s future.” He stood firm on his earlier comments.

Addressing Song Criticism

Political rivals also targeted him for alleged “vulgarity” in some of his old songs. Yadav admitted a few were mistakes but firmly stated that his entertainment career had nothing to do with Bihar’s issues related to roads, education, or healthcare.

Music vs. Development

He added that music and development are two different subjects, questioning how his songs could be blamed for waterlogging, poor education infrastructure, or hospital conditions in Chhapra.

Viral Fitness Video

Meanwhile, a recent video of Yadav working out has gone viral, with social media users appreciating his fitness and physique even as the political battle continues.
