Blasts Rock Lahore Day After India's Operation Sindoor

A day after India's Operation Sindoor targeted terror camps in Pakistan, loud explosions rocked Lahore, with a drone reportedly shot down. Panic spread in the city, though no casualties were reported.

On Thursday, loud blasts were heard in parts of Lahore, Pakistan, just a day after India's military action called Operation Sindoor. People rushed out of their homes as sirens went off. The explosions were reported in the Gopal Nagar and Naseerabad areas, near Walton Airport.

Drone Shot Down Amid Security Tension

Reports suggest a drone, about 5 to 6 feet in size, may have caused the blast. Police sources claimed it was shot down using jamming technology. No injuries or damage to public property have been confirmed so far.

Airports Temporarily Shut Down

Due to security concerns, airports in Lahore, Sialkot, and Karachi temporarily suspended operations. The blast location is close to Lahore’s business hub and army area, increasing worries about safety.

Operation Sindoor: India’s Strike on Terror Camps

On Wednesday, India launched Operation Sindoor to destroy terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. These camps were linked to terrorist groups like Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba. Using Rafale jets and missile systems, India’s air and ground forces reportedly killed 80–90 terrorists.

India Avoided Civilian Harm

According to sources, Indian forces carefully selected their targets to avoid harming civilians or Pakistani military sites. Despite this, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called it an “act of war,” claiming women and children were killed.

Pakistan Responds With Artillery Fire

In retaliation, Pakistan fired artillery shells into Indian civilian areas near the Line of Control in Poonch-Rajouri. This attack sadly resulted in the deaths of 15 civilians.
