CBSE Results 2025: Over 42 Lakh Students Await 10th, 12th Scorecards
CBSE Results 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has successfully completed the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams for the 2024-25 academic year. About 42 lakh students appeared for the exams, which were held between February 15 and April 4.
- 24.12 lakh students gave the Class 10 exams across 84 subjects.
- 17.88 lakh students appeared for Class 12 exams across 120 subjects.
When Will CBSE Announce Class 10, 12 Results?
Looking at previous years, CBSE usually releases the results in May.
- In 2024, results came out on May 13.
- In 2023, they were declared on May 12.
- In 2022, due to the pandemic, results were delayed to July 22.
Going by the trend, students can expect the CBSE Class 10 and 12 results by mid-May 2025. The results for both classes are likely to be announced on the same day.

CBSE Board Result 2024: Pass Percentage and Highlights
In 2024, out of 16.8 lakh registered students for Class 12, about 16.6 lakh appeared and 14.5 lakh passed, making the pass percentage 87.33%.
- Trivandrum region had the highest pass rate with 99.91%.
- Girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 90.68%, while boys scored 84.67%.
- Transgender students had a 60% pass rate.
- Around 1.25 lakh students were placed in the compartment category.
Students must secure at least 33% marks in each subject to pass. CBSE may also give grace marks to those close to the passing mark.
CBSE Curriculum to Expand Across Maharashtra
Separately, Maharashtra’s School Education Minister Dada Bhuse announced that the CBSE curriculum would be fully adopted in the state up to Class 12 by 2028. The transition will start with Class 1 students in 2025.
