For the first time, China revealed its complete nuclear-capable triad, featuring missiles launched from land, sea, and air. Among the key systems were the air-based Jinglei-1, the submarine-launched Julang-3, and land-based intercontinental missiles Dongfeng-61 and Dongfeng-31. State media described them as China’s strategic "ace" to safeguard sovereignty.

Advanced Dongfeng Series

The parade also featured the Dongfeng-5C (DF-5C), the latest in a missile line developed since the 1970s. This liquid-fuelled missile can release multiple warheads at once. Additionally, China showcased hypersonic anti-ship missiles like Yingji-19, Yingji-17, and Yingji-20, reportedly tested against mock U.S. aircraft carriers.

Cruise and Hypersonic Missiles

A wide range of cruise and hypersonic weapons were on display, including the Changjian-20A, Yingji-18C, and Changjian-1000. Cutting-edge hypersonic systems such as the Yingji-21, Dongfeng-17, and Dongfeng-26D were highlighted for their “all-weather combat capabilities,” according to Chinese state media.

Laser Weapon Systems

China demonstrated progress in laser-based defence systems, designed primarily to counter drone threats. The PLA showcased missile guns, high-energy laser weapons, and high-power microwave weapons. Together, these represented a new “triad” in its anti-drone arsenal.

Next-Gen Drones

The military parade also featured multi-domain drones, capable of operating both underwater and in the air. Reconnaissance drones, armed strike drones, and unmanned helicopters designed for ship launches underscored China’s expanding unmanned warfare capabilities.
