North India including Bihar-Jharkhand is in the grip of severe cold wave these days. The blanket of fog is making every morning white. Cold Day and cold wave have made people shiver. In view of snowfall again on the mountains on Sunday, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding cold-day in many districts including the capital Patna to Gaya, Bhagalpur, Saran, East Champaran, Arwal.

Outbreak of cold wave has increased in Bihar

According to this alert, the cold may increase further in the next few days, which may cause a lot of trouble to the people. People are being advised to wear warm clothes and not to go out of the house unnecessarily. According to the Meteorological Department, night temperatures are likely to fall further in the coming days due to icy westerly winds. Today (Monday, 6 January), a yellow alert has been issued in view of fog in entire Bihar. Moderate to strong westerly winds are forecast in most parts of the state on 7 and 8 January.

Meteorological Department has issued an alert

At the same time, the outbreak of cold has increased in Purnia. The minimum temperature has reached 11-10 degrees in many districts of Kosi Seemanchal. Due to fog, visibility has also become 30 meters and 50 meters at some places, due to which traffic seems to be stalled. The Meteorological Department has also issued a cold alert in many districts of Kosi-Seemanchal region. Patna District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh has issued an order to keep classes up to 8th closed till January 11. Schools from nursery to 8th class will be closed till further orders.

Dense fog and cold conditions to continue in the coming days

The outbreak of cold wave has increased in Bihar and the temperature has dropped below 10 degrees Celsius in many areas of the state. According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of severe cold continues in the state and its effect is expected to be intense in the coming days. Life is being affected due to cold wave in many districts of Bihar, and health warnings have also been issued.

What was the temperature where?

According to the Meteorological Department, cold continued to wreak havoc in many major cities of Bihar on Sunday. Motihari recorded a temperature of 6.7 degrees Celsius, which was the lowest temperature in the state. Apart from this, Saran recorded 6.9 degrees, Dehri 7 degrees, Samastipur 9.2 degrees and Patna 10 degrees Celsius. Other districts like Saharsa, Banka, Valmikinagar, Darbhanga and Kishanganj also recorded minimum temperatures between 10.1 degrees Celsius and 10.5 degrees Celsius.

Fog likely to prevail

The Meteorological Department also said that there is a possibility of dense fog in many parts of the state in the next two to three days, which may increase the cold even more. Traffic may also be affected in these circumstances, and citizens have been advised to be cautious. Several steps have already been taken by the state government regarding the impact of the cold wave, and people have been asked to be extra cautious to avoid the cold.
