Delhi NCR AQI: Situation in Delhi is getting worse, today dense fog covered the capital in the morning. At the same time, AQI has been recorded very poor condition in many areas. The worst situation was seen in Jahangirpuri, Delhi. Here AQI was recorded at 411.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) across Delhi remains in the 'very poor' category in many areas, due to which a thick layer of haze has covered the area around India Gate and Vijay Chowk.

According to the standards, air is considered healthy only when the PM 10 level is 100 and PM 2.5 level is less than 60. But on Sunday evening, the PM 10 level in NCR air reached 231 and PM 2.5 level reached 131 micrograms per cubic meter. That is, despite slight improvement, there is more than two and a quarter times pollution in the air.

Delhi's air is very bad

Even though there has been a slight improvement in the pollution level in Delhi, there is no possibility of people getting relief from the overall 'very bad' air.

Although the weather is warm at the moment, but a slight cold can be felt in three to four days. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall on the upper side of the mountains. After a day or two of this happening, its effect can be seen in the National Capital Region as well. If there is a partial drop in temperature, then the air is also expected to feel cold.

Political stir on pollution

Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has targeted the BJP for continuously criticizing the AAP government and Arvind Kejriwal over air pollution.

Manish Sisodia statement

On Sunday, Sisodia said that the AAP governments in Delhi and Punjab are working seriously to reduce pollution, while the BJP sitting in the Center is doing nothing except abusing Arvind Kejriwal.

He alleged that the situation at Ghaziabad's Kaushambi bus stand is bad due to pollution, yet why is the BJP government not taking any steps? We have reduced pollution by 50 percent in Delhi, then the BJP should ask us questions by reducing pollution by 100 percent in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

'Very bad' air now covered with smog

Delhi's AQI improved a bit on Sunday due to slight improvement in wind speed. After seven days, AQI came below 350. Despite this, the air quality remained 'very bad' for the 12th consecutive day. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi's AQI was recorded at 334 on Sunday. This level of air is considered very bad. A day before, on Saturday, it was 352. The reason for this is believed to be the increased wind speed and hot weather.
