Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the EC stated, "The 3-member Commission collectively noted repeated deliberate pressure tactics to malign ECI in Delhi Elections, as if it is a single-member body & decided to have constitutional restraint, absorbing such outbursts with sagacity, stoically & not to be swayed by such insinuations."

AAP Accuses BJP of Poll Code Violations

A day before the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, AAP released video footage alleging that the BJP was violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). Delhi CM Atishi accused BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri of bringing in outsiders to intimidate AAP voters in slum areas.

Atishi further alleged

  1. The EC is filing FIRs against those who report poll code violations.
  2. Police are assaulting complainants instead of taking action against offenders.
  3. Voter suppression tactics such as bribery and coercion are being used.
  4. Kejriwal, Atishi Meet Election Commission

On Tuesday, Kejriwal and Atishi met the Election Commission to raise three key concerns:

  1. Alleged violence involving police collusion.
  2. Attempts to suppress voters.
  3. Forced inking of voters’ fingers through intimidation or bribery.

Election Commission 's Firm Stand on Fair Elections

Following the meeting, the EC issued a statement emphasizing its commitment to a fair electoral process.
"ECI reiterates that all election officials should continue to work impartially, and any partisan conduct disturbing the level playing field will be unpardonable," the commission posted on X.

As the Delhi Assembly Elections unfold, tensions remain high between the AAP and EC, with both sides standing firm on their positions.
