Dharmasthala Controversy Deepens as SIT Arrests Complainant Chenna

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested CN Chinnayya alias Chenna, the man who had claimed he was a whistleblower in the alleged Dharmasthala mass burial case. Once called the “masked man,” Chenna is accused of lying under oath after his statements were found inconsistent and fabricated.

Woman Retracts Missing Daughter Claim

In another shocking U-turn, Sujata Bhat, who had claimed her daughter Ananya (an MBBS student) went missing in Dharmasthala, admitted to a local YouTube channel that her daughter never existed. Later, she claimed she had been forced to make such a statement.

Political Storm Over the Case

The case, which began in July when Chenna entered a police station with a skull and shocking claims of mass burials and sexual assaults, quickly snowballed into a political flashpoint. The BJP accused the Congress government of protecting propaganda and tarnishing the temple town’s image.

BJP and Congress Trade Blame

BJP MLA Bharath Shetty alleged that Chenna and Sujata Bhat were just “front players” working under someone else’s instructions, hinting at funding behind the false claims. Meanwhile, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar defended the SIT probe, stating that the Congress government is committed to justice and urged that religion should not be politicized.

Dharmasthala Probe Continues

The SIT continues its probe amid political mudslinging. While the BJP calls it a Congress-backed drama, the ruling party maintains that it will act against whoever is found guilty, regardless of political or religious affiliations.
