Diljit Dosanjh: What Restrictions Has the Telangana Government Imposed on His Concert?
Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh is set to perform in Hyderabad today as part of his much-anticipated Dil-Luminati tour. The concert is one of many scheduled across India, with previous performances already held in Delhi. Following his successful show in the capital, Diljit will continue to entertain fans in eight other cities, including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Pune.
Government Issues Guidelines for the Concert
Ahead of the Hyderabad concert, the Telangana government has issued specific guidelines for the event. A notice has been sent to Diljit Dosanjh, restricting the presence of children on stage during the show. The government raised concerns about the potential risks of loud sounds and flashing lights, which could be harmful, especially to children. The notice referenced World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations, which suggest that adults should not be exposed to sound levels above 140 decibels, while the safe limit for children is 120 decibels.
Restrictions on Content and Stage Performance
The notice also highlighted that Diljit Dosanjh should avoid performing songs that promote alcohol, drugs, or violence. This was in response to concerns raised after his previous performance in Delhi, where some of his songs reportedly promoted such themes. The Telangana government emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of children and other vulnerable groups attending the concert.
Diljit’s Visit to Hyderabad
Before his concert, Diljit Dosanjh was seen exploring Hyderabad. A video shared on social media showed the singer visiting the historic Charminar, a famous landmark in the city. He also visited a temple and a Gurudwara, where he offered prayers, reflecting his connection to the city's cultural and spiritual heritage.
