Dry Day in Delhi: Excise department issues notification ahead of festivals and election
Dry Day in Delhi: Delhiites are to face dry day in the upcoming months on the account of upcoming religious festivals and the festival of democracy. Delhi government has declared certain dates are dry days in the month of April and June. The excise department of Delhi has issued an order on Sunday regarding dry days ahead of upcoming festivals.
The issues order said that the Liquor stores will be closed in the Delhi on Id-ul-Fitr (April 11), Ram Navami (April 17), Mahavir Jayanti (April 21), Buddha Purnima (May 23), and Id-ul-Zuha (June 17).

All shops with licence holders will have to showcase the order in their premises.
Dry Day in Uttar Pradesh
In another notification issued recently, the department notified that dry day will be observed from 6PM of April to April 24 to 6 PM on the occasion of Lok Sabha elections voting in Bhagpat, Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar of Uttar Pradesh. The ban on liquor sale will be applicable to all those licensce holders whose stores/premises are situated within 100 kms of Bhaghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar districts of Uttar Pradesh.
The excise department issued a notification stating that various liquor outlets and licensed establishments in Delhi will shut down 48 hours prior to the end of polling, starting from 6 PM on May 23 until 6 PM on May 25, due to the elections in the seven Lok Sabha seats in the capital. Additionally, all liquor stores in the city will remain closed for the entirety of June 4, the day designated for vote counting after the Lok Sabha polls.
