Meaning of article 370 in J&K and the impact.

Article 370 of the Indian Constitution is a temporary provision that grants a special status of autonomy to J&K. Article 370 was enacted from the constitution that Temporary Transitional and Special provisions It accords special status to the state of J&K, As per this article, all the different provisions of the constitution that are applicable to other states of India are not to be extended to J&K However J&K stands on the precipice of the first assembly elections after a decade, the top court mandated deadline is September 30, The Union government believes it streamlined local politics, weeded out extremists and tamped down on terrorism and stone pelting, Meanwhile the region completes five years after the landmark changes and looks forward to local polls, months after record breaking turnouts in parliamentary elections.

Polls will be held in three phase in J& K

September 18   - First

September 25 - Second

Haryana election: Poll stations in apartments and societies

The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the polling schedule for the assembly elections on Friday. To facilitate smooth polling in urban areas, the ECI said that polling stations will be set up in high rise apartment GuruGram, Faridabad and other cities. Haryana, which has 90 assembly seats and over 2 corer registered voters, will go to polls on October 1 and the results will be declared on October 4. The move is to create a smoother process of voting during the assembly polls, and can prove to be effective in increasing the voter percentage of people residing in apartment complexes and multi-storey buildings. While the elections in Haryana will be conducted in a single phase, the polls in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases - September 18, September 25 and October 1. The counting of votes in J&K and Haryana will be held on October 4

Haryana polls will be held in one phase on October 1

The last day to file nominations of Haryana will be September 12. The date of scrutiny of the nominations is September 13. The last date for the withdrawal of candidatures will be September 16. Chief Election Commissioner of India Rajiv Kumar in a said that 11,838 polling stations would be set up in J&K, In Haryana, more than 20,500 polling stations would be set up.
