Elon Musk Reaches 200 Million Followers on X
On October 3, Elon Musk, the head of Tesla and SpaceX, made history by becoming the first person to reach 200 million followers on the social media platform X. This is a notable moment, especially since Musk bought Twitter (now X) for $44 billion two years ago.
Who Follows Elon?
Following Musk in popularity is former U.S. President Barack Obama, who has 131.9 million followers as of October 4. Some reports, however, claim that many of Musk's followers might be fake or inactive accounts. Obama, the first African American president in U.S. history, remains a significant figure on X.
Other notable personalities include Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo with 113.2 million followers, Canadian singer Justin Bieber at 110.3 million, and Barbadian singer Rihanna with 108.4 million. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also has a strong presence with 102.4 million followers.
User Growth on X
Recent data shows that X has seen growth in user activity. From July 1 to September 30, daily user interactions increased by 12% compared to last year, reaching 363.6 billion. Monthly active users grew by 2% to 547.9 million. Daily video views also jumped by 43% to 8.9 billion.
Future Plans for X
Currently, X has around 300 million daily active users and over 600 million monthly active users. Elon Musk has plans to transform the platform into an "everything app," which will allow users to upload movies and TV shows and even send and receive money.
