FASTag Annual Pass

FASTag Annual Pass 2025: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has introduced a FASTag Annual Pass that allows free passage for private cars, jeeps, and vans at select National Highway (NH) and National Motorway (NE) toll plazas. The pass is valid for one year or 200 trips—whichever comes first—without any per-trip charges.

Purpose of the Annual Pass

Set to launch on August 15, 2025, the scheme targets reduced wait times and smoother traffic flow at toll booths. It also addresses frequent complaints about multiple toll plazas within a 60-kilometre radius, offering a cost-effective single payment option.

How It Works

To avail the FASTag Annual Pass, users can renew their FASTag for Rs.3,000. Once activated, it works like a regular FASTag but without charging per trip at designated plazas. After the pass expires—either after one year or 200 trips—it reverts to a standard FASTag, and users can recharge again to renew the benefits.

Toll Plazas Covered

The Annual Pass is valid only at National Highway and National Motorway fee plazas. For other roads, like state highways, city tolls, and parking areas, the pass works as a regular FASTag, and standard charges will apply.

Validity and Renewal

The pass remains active for one year from activation or until 200 transactions are completed. Once the limit is reached, users need to reactivate to get another 200 trip credits with one-year validity.

Eligibility Criteria

The scheme is strictly for private, non-commercial cars, jeeps, and vans registered in the VAHAN database. Using the pass for commercial vehicles may lead to immediate deactivation without notice.

Optional for Drivers

The Annual Pass is not mandatory. Motorists can still use their regular FASTag for standard toll payments if they choose not to purchase the pass.
