Former PM Manmohan Singh's statue to be installed in Hyderabad, Telangana CM announces
The Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has made a big announcement today on Monday that a decision has been taken to install a statue of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in Hyderabad Financial District. The former Prime Minister passed away last week, and tributes were paid to him in the Telangana Assembly today.

Giving credit to Manmohan Singh for bringing Telangana into existence, CM Reddy said, "He is the former Prime Minister and former Finance Minister of the country, but he is also a close friend of Telangana. People here keep him in their hearts as the person who gave birth to Telangana. Manmohan's services to the country will always be remembered."
CM Revanth Reddy condoled the death of Manmohan Singh
Soon after Assembly Speaker G. Prasad Kumar started the proceedings of the Assembly at 10 am today, CM Revanth Reddy condoled the death of Manmohan Singh. He also expressed gratitude for Dr. Manmohan Singh's role in the formation of Telangana as a new state in the year 2014. However, during this session, Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao did not attend.
Will request the Centre for Bharat Ratna
Chief Minister Reddy said that the Assembly will, pass a resolution requesting the Central Government to Manmohan Singh with Bharat Ratna. Telangana was formed during the second term of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government led by Manmohan Singh. The winter session of the Assembly ended here on 21 December.
Manmohan Singh's statue on the soil of Telangana
During the session in the Assembly, CM Reddy announced, "We have decided to install a statue of Manmohan Singh in Hyderabad Financial District." He said that we have decided to install a statue of Manmohan Singh. We request all the MLAs to give their suggestions as to where his statue should be installed. We feel that it would be appropriate to install Manmohan Singh's statue on the soil of Telangana.
In the meanwhile, CM said, "The death of the former Prime Minister is a huge loss for the country. He did not lose his patience despite all the criticism he received for his silence."
CM Reddy said that the former PM constantly focused on making the country economically and socially strong. He is one of the first people to be taken as a role model in economic and political matters. He participated in the protest in Delhi with us as MPs to protect democracy. This is an incident that we will remember for a lifetime.
Manmohan is a great humanitarian leader: CM Reddy
Referring to the schemes brought during Manmohan Singh's tenure, CM Reddy said, "He participated in the protest to protect democracy in Parliament, this is a proof of his humility. Manmohan Singh is the person who brought the employment guarantee scheme and gave 100 days of work to the poor. He was a great person who brought the Food Security and Right to Information Act."
He is the person who brought the Forest Rights Act in 2006
The Telangana CM further said that the former PM made the Land Acquisition Act in the year 2013 and ensured that the landless poor get benefits. He is the person who brought the Forest Rights Act in 2006. He made laws continuing Ambedkar's inspiration. It is unfortunate to lose such a great humanitarian leader. The liberal policies he brought changed the direction of the country.
