Four women killed in soil collapse in UP Kasganj: Bodies pulled out with bulldozer
Tragic incident came to light in Mohanpura area of Kasganj district on Tuesday. It is being told that when a group of women were digging to collect soil for a function in their house, a mound of soil collapsed. According to officials, four women lost their lives in the incident, while three others were injured.
More than a dozen women are feared to be trapped under the debris. A rescue operation was immediately launched, with local police, emergency responders and district officials working tirelessly to rescue the victims.
Major accident in UP's Kasganj
While collecting soil, the mound collapsed on the women's everyone got buried in it. While hearing the screams, people from the vicinity reached there. They dug out the injured from the soil, but still some people got buried inside. Therefore, the police were informed.
However, the bodies of the deceased have been recovered and the injured have been rushed to a local hospital, two of whom have been referred to Aligarh for further treatment. Kasganj DM Medha Rupam said that 9 women have been pulled out, out of which 4 were declared dead at the district hospital.
It is being told that the women had come to collect soil for their house. We will talk to the women. The police reached the spot with a JCB and removed the soil and took out the bodies. At present, the rescue operation is going on. DM Medha Rupam and SP Rajat Kaushik have reached the spot.
DM said - the entire matter is being investigated seriously
While giving information about the accident, DM Medha Rupam said that the accident is very sad. Women had gone to collect soil on the side of NHAI. And the accident happened. In which 4 people have died. 5 are injured.
Rescue was done for a long time with JCB and other resources. So that no one else is buried under the soil. SDRF team has also reached the spot. NHAI's technical team is also on the spot.
No barricading was done near the culvert
Although highway culvert was being constructed by GR Company near Radha Swami Satsang in Mohanpura on Mathura Bareilly Highway on NH 530. No one should go near it during the construction of this culvert. No care was taken by the company for its security. Neither barricading was done near the culvert. Nor any worker was deployed.
CM Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep grief
In the meanwhile, UP CM Yogi Adityanath has expressed sorrow, over the incident. He has taken cognizance of the situation and expressed condolences to the families of the victims. The Chief Minister has also directed the district officials to ensure that the injured are immediately rushed to the hospital and provided necessary medical treatment.
