G7 Nations Urge India and Pakistan to De-Escalate Tensions Immediately
Foreign Ministers of the G7 nations have strongly condemned the terrorist attack that happened in Pahalgam on April 22, calling it “egregious”. They also warned both India and Pakistan to avoid any further military action.

Call for Peaceful Dialogue
In a statement from Global Affairs Canada (GAC), the foreign ministers asked both countries to immediately reduce tensions and talk directly to each other to find a peaceful solution.
Concern for Regional Peace
The G7 ministers said that any further military steps by India or Pakistan could harm peace in the region. They expressed deep concern for the safety of civilians on both sides.
Canada Leads the G7 This Year
Canada currently leads the G7 and will host the next summit in June. The country says it wants to promote peaceful dialogue and global cooperation during its presidency.
Travel Advisory for Kashmir
Canada has warned its citizens not to travel to Jammu and Kashmir, areas near the India-Pakistan border, and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. The advisory came after Indian airstrikes were reported in those regions, causing casualties.
Situation May Get Worse
The advisory also warned that tensions could rise quickly. There have already been reports of artillery fire across the Line of Control, and air travel may face disruptions.
