700 traffic police personnel are deployed daily

The rapidly increasing number of vehicles in Commissionerate Gautam Buddha Nagar poses a challenging traffic situation. In light of this situation, several scientific and administrative measures have been taken under the direction of the Police Commissioner to ensure smoother and safer daily commutes for the public. To maintain smooth traffic, approximately 700 traffic police personnel have been deployed, working in two shifts at 198 strategic locations to control vehicular movement.

The DND Flyway, which has a capacity of only 70,000 vehicles, handles approximately 360,000 vehicles daily. Furthermore, Eco Patrol Units (Eco Patrol Units) are deployed on four-wheel-drive vehicles to maintain 24-hour surveillance on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, ensuring prompt action in case of any emergency.

24x7 Monitoring of the City

To make traffic control more effective, the Commissionerate is using the Integrated Smart Traffic Management System (ISTMS), which monitors city activities 24 hours a day. This modern system has led to the arrest and prosecution of criminals in several significant cases in 2025. Through this technology, 245 theft cases were quickly solved, first aid was provided immediately upon receiving information in 217 road accidents, 203 robbery and snatching cases were solved, crucial clues were found in 14 murder cases, 112 lost items were identified and returned to people, and 21 fights were immediately intervened to control the situation. This technology has now become a strong foundation for the Commissionerate's quick and accurate action.

More than 8 lakh people made aware

Encouraging public participation, the Commissionerate Police launched a massive awareness campaign, directly reaching out to schools, colleges, RWAs, transport unions, and various institutions to educate people about traffic rules. As part of this campaign, programs were organized in approximately 700 schools and colleges, in which important messages related to safe traffic were conveyed to more than 4.5 lakh students and teachers. Additionally, over 5.5 lakh people were sensitized by organizing workshops at over 2,500 intersections and roundabouts across the city.

“No Helmet – No Fuel” Campaign

Special awareness campaigns are being conducted at petrol pumps, informing two-wheeler riders about the importance of wearing helmets. As a result, more and more people are now viewing helmets as a life-saving device in their daily commutes, reducing the risk of serious head injuries in road accidents and increasing overall public safety.

Safety standards were strengthened by cracking down on 57,411 vehicles with incorrect or unreadable license plates and 14,237 vehicles with black film. Strict action was also taken against dangerous drunk driving behavior, resulting in 141 people being prosecuted. Action taken against 59,242 overspeeding cases and 27,106 drivers driving without licenses played a significant role in strengthening road safety. The objective of all these efforts is not to punish, but to provide a safe travel environment for citizens and prevent accidents, so that everyone can feel more secure on the road.

Successful Disposal of 6.10 Lakh E-Challans

Citizens were made aware of e-challan disposal through social media and public relations, leading to active payment of their dues. As a result, on March 8, 2025, 175,611 out of 927,000 challans were settled, amounting to ₹1,34,40,470; on May 10, 2025, 142,793 out of 930,000 challans were settled, amounting to ₹1,25,47,320; and on September 13, 2025, 292,200 out of 1060,956 challans were settled, amounting to ₹2,47,94,510. A total of 610,604 e-challans were settled, amounting to ₹5,07,82,300 successfully recovered through judicial proceedings, thereby increasing compliance with rules and instilling a sense of responsibility among the general public.

Safe and Responsible Traffic Management

The Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate has created Green Corridors to ensure life-saving safety in emergencies, allowing ambulances to travel without interruption. The patient could be transported to the hospital without any obstruction. On January 8, 2025, a human organ (kidney) was safely transported from Kalindi Kunj Border to Yatharth Hospital, a distance of approximately 35 kilometers, in just 24 minutes. This swift and well-organized action played a crucial role in saving the patient's life. Similarly, on August 27, 2025, a critical patient was transported to the hospital on time, covering a distance of 6 kilometers from DND Flyway to PGI Noida in just 3 minutes and 50 seconds.

Summary

These examples send a clear message to the public that the Commissionerate is not only proactive in road safety, but also takes prompt and effective steps to save lives in emergency situations.
