Gujarat ATS Arrests Contract Worker: In a shocking development, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested a contractual worker, Dipesh Gohil, for allegedly sharing confidential details about Indian Coast Guard (ICG) ships with a Pakistani spy. Dipesh, who worked at the Okha port, is accused of sending sensitive information about the movement of Coast Guard vessels to an agent linked to Pakistan’s Navy or Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

How the Spy Network Was Exposed

Dipesh Gohil had been communicating with a Pakistani agent who pretended to be a woman named "Sahima" on Facebook. Once she gained his trust, their conversations moved to WhatsApp, where she requested specific details about the Coast Guard vessel stationed at Okha Port. Given his role at the port, Dipesh had easy access to this information. While the agent's true identity remains unknown, officials have confirmed that the individual is linked to either Pakistan's Navy or the ISI.

Money for Secrets

Dipesh was reportedly paid Rs. 200 daily for the information he provided. Over time, he earned Rs. 42,000, which was transferred to his friend’s bank account since Dipesh did not have one. He then withdrew the money under the guise of receiving payment for welding work. Gujarat ATS officer K Siddharth pointed out the danger of such activities, stating, “The Coast Guard's details could be valuable to Pakistan’s military. If this information falls into the wrong hands, it could pose a significant threat, especially in times of conflict.”

Another Arrest Last Month

This arrest is not an isolated case. Last month, in October, Gujarat ATS arrested another individual, Pankaj Kotia from Porbandar, for allegedly sharing Coast Guard details with a Pakistani spy. These incidents have raised concerns about the increasing risk of vital military information being compromised and used against India by foreign intelligence agencies.

Ongoing Threat and Investigation

The Gujarat ATS has been actively working to prevent such security breaches and has been intercepting illegal activities along India’s maritime borders, including drug trafficking. The latest case highlights the serious risks posed by individuals providing sensitive military data for small sums, endangering national security.
