Administration on High Alert
District Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ajay Kumar and Police Commissioner Vikas Arora conducted late-night and early-morning inspections on key city roads. They directed field teams to stay alert at waterlogging-prone points and ensure smooth traffic movement.
Schools, Offices Shift Online
To minimize disruption, the administration advised corporate offices to allow employees to work from home. Schools across the district were also instructed to conduct online classes on Tuesday. “The safety of citizens is our highest priority,” Kumar emphasized, urging residents to step out only if necessary.
Vulnerable Spots Under Watch
Officials were ordered to continuously monitor vulnerable stretches and deploy extra resources where needed. Disaster management teams were kept on standby to handle emergencies and provide quick relief if required.
5,000 Policemen Deployed
Commissioner Arora said nearly 5,000 police personnel were deployed across Gurugram to manage traffic during the heavy showers. Officers were stationed at every 10-metre stretch in waterlogging-prone areas to guide commuters and prevent congestion. Despite higher-than-expected rainfall, traffic flow was restored in most parts of the city.
Joint Appeal to Residents
Both the DC and police commissioner appealed to citizens to remain patient and cooperate with the authorities. They assured residents that the administration and police are fully prepared to manage the situation if rains continue.
