Harbhajan donates boats, ambulances for flood-hit Punjab, also raised funds of 50 lakh

Harbhajan Singh: Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has come forward to help the people of his flood-affected home state Punjab. He is a Rajya Sabha MP from the Aam Aadmi Party. Harbhajan Singh has provided boats and ambulances for relief work, earlier he has approved eight steamer boats from his MP fund. At the same time, he has provided three more boats from his own money.

Harbhajan Singh had performed brilliantly in international cricket for India. After retiring from cricket, Bhajji was elected to the Rajya Sabha. Bhajji has now taken good steps to help the flood victims in Punjab

Harbhajan Singh came forward to help the flood victims of Punjab

'Harbhajan Singh has given 11 steamer boats. He gave eight boats from his MP fund and 3 boats from his own pocket. The cost of each boat is around Rs 4.5 to 5.5 lakh. Apart from this, he has also bought three ambulances, so that serious patients can be taken to nearby hospitals.

He also raised funds of ₹50 lakh

Not only this, Harbhajan Singh also sought help from his friends and acquaintances. On his appeal, a sports organization donated Rs 30 lakh, while two of his close friends contributed Rs 12 lakh and Rs 6 lakh respectively. An amount of about Rs 50 lakh has been collected by Bhajji to help the affected families. Food items and medicines are being continuously delivered to the people from this amount.

Harbhajan also assured help in the future

It is worth noting that the northern part of Punjab is facing the devastation of floods caused by heavy rains. Water has accumulated in many districts, due to which a large number of people have become homeless. Due to the flood, the crops of the farmers have also been destroyed. In such a situation, the state government and social organizations are constantly engaged in relief and rescue operations. Harbhajan Singh himself is monitoring the situation. He has assured that every possible help will be provided in future if needed.
