Hearing in Delhi High Court on Rahul's citizenship dispute, Allahabad High Court on September 26 has sought a reply
Rahul Gandhi Citizenship: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Indian citizenship case will be heard in Delhi High Court today. In the last hearing on September 26, the court had said that the hearing on this matter is going on in Allahabad High Court, so we cannot hear it.

The Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court on September 26 has sought a reply from the Government of India in a PIL filed regarding Rahul Gandhi's citizenship. The court said - We would first like to know the decision of the Government of India, what action has they taken on the complaint.

Is Rahul Gandhi a foreigner or not?

An important hearing will be held in the court on the petition demanding instructions to the Home Ministry to cancel Rahul's Indian citizenship. A petition has also been filed in the Allahabad High Court in this regard. In the last hearing, the court had said that the same issue cannot be debated in two courts.
Allahabad High Court on September 26 has sought a reply
Bench of Justice Rajan Roy and Justice Om Prakash Shukla directed Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Suryabhan Pandey to obtain information from the Union Home Ministry in this matter. A petition was filed in the Lucknow Bench on June 21 by Vignesh Shishir, a BJP worker from Karnataka. It said - Rahul Gandhi is not a citizen of India. He is a British citizen. Therefore, he is not eligible to become an MP under Article 84 (A) of the Constitution.
High Court had sought clarification from the Home Ministry
The court also asked the Home Ministry what is the status of the hearing on the petition in Allahabad High Court? Delhi High Court has asked to present the details of the petition filed in Allahabad High Court in the court. In fact, the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court had sought clarification from the Home Ministry on Rahul Gandhi's citizenship on September 25. However, the ministry has not submitted any report yet.
Subramanian Swamy demanded to cancel Rahul's citizenship
The BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, had demanded the government to cancel Rahul's citizenship. He has alleged in his petition that Rahul Gandhi had declared himself a British citizen in front of the British government, which is a violation of the Indian Constitution and Citizenship Act. Swami wrote a letter on 6 August 2019 and demanded the Home Ministry to cancel Rahul's Indian citizenship.
What action has they taken on the complaint

A petition has also been filed in the Allahabad High Court in this regard. In the last hearing, the court had said that the same issue cannot be debated in two courts. Petitioner Subramanian Swamy had told the court in the last hearing that before filing the petition in the Allahabad High Court, we had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court. Therefore, there is a right to hear this petition first. The court had also said that we have to ensure that we do not encroach upon anyone else's jurisdiction.
Claim of Rahul's British citizenship
BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking direction to the central government to file a status report on his complaint against Rahul Gandhi. In August 2019, the BJP leader had written a letter to the Center on the issue of Rahul Gandhi's alleged voluntary disclosure to the British government, in which he described himself as a British citizen, which is equivalent to holding a British passport.
Swamy alleged that Rahul Gandhi, being an Indian citizen, has violated Article 9 of the Indian Constitution.
