Heavy Rainfall Expected in Several States: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in several states over the next 2-3 days. The alert covers Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Goa.

Current Weather Conditions

A deep depression over northwest Madhya Pradesh and east Rajasthan has intensified, prompting the IMD to issue a red alert for August 26. The deep depression, located about 70 kilometers southeast of Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, is expected to move west-southwest, impacting South Rajasthan, Gujarat, Saurashtra, Kutch, and parts of Pakistan by August 29.

Upcoming Weather Patterns

The IMD has also identified another low-pressure area over Bangladesh and Gangetic West Bengal. This system is predicted to strengthen and move closer to West Bengal, north Odisha, and Jharkhand in the coming days.

Expected Rainfall and Winds

Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, and Jharkhand over the next two days. Strong winds are anticipated, reaching up to 50 kmph in Madhya Pradesh on August 26, and up to 60 kmph in south Rajasthan from August 26-27.

Heavy Rainfall Expected in Several States: IMD Issues Alerts

In Gujarat, north Maharashtra, and the northeast Arabian Sea, winds up to 55 kmph are forecasted for August 26, increasing to 60 kmph on August 27 and 28. The sea is expected to be very rough off the coasts of Gujarat, Pakistan, and north Maharashtra until August 30. Additionally, rough sea conditions are anticipated in the northern Bay of Bengal on August 26.

Safety Advisories

Fisherfolk are advised to avoid going into the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal, especially near the coasts of Gujarat, Pakistan, and Maharashtra, until August 30. Small ships should keep track of weather updates and take necessary precautions.

The IMD advises people to avoid areas prone to waterlogging and to check traffic updates before traveling. Farmers in affected areas should ensure proper drainage in fields and protect their crops from potential rain damage.
