The Story of Prahlad and Holika

According to Hindu mythology, King Hiranyakashipu wanted everyone to worship him, but his son Prahlad was a devoted follower of Lord Vishnu. To punish him, the king’s sister, Holika, who had a fire-resistant shawl, sat in a burning pyre with Prahlad. However, due to divine intervention, Holika was burned, and Prahlad emerged unharmed. This event is commemorated as Holika Dahan, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.

The Story of Radha-Krishna

Holi is also celebrated as a festival of love, inspired by Lord Krishna and Radha’s playful color smearing tradition in Vrindavan and Mathura. Even today, these places host grand Holi celebrations.
