IPL 2025: Shivam Shukla Joins KKR Squad for Final Match
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have included mystery spinner Shivam Shukla from Madhya Pradesh in their squad for their last match of IPL 2025. The 29-year-old replaces West Indies batter Rovman Powell, who didn’t come back to India after the league resumed on May 17.

Shivam Shukla ’s stats in domestic cricket
Shivam Shukla made his T20 debut in the 2024 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He took 8 wickets in 8 matches with a good economy rate of 6.30. His best bowling performance was 4 wickets for 29 runs against Bengal in Rajkot.
KKR out of playoff race
KKR will play their last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday, May 25, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. After their match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) was cancelled due to rain, KKR became the fourth team to be eliminated from IPL 2025.
KKR’s performance this season
KKR won only 5 out of 13 matches and are currently in 6th place with 12 points and a net run rate of 0.193. The team started their season with a loss to RCB and couldn’t build strong momentum. Wins against Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals gave them hope, but a narrow defeat to CSK pushed them toward elimination.
Playing for pride in the last match
With no chance of reaching the playoffs, KKR will aim to finish the season on a positive note. Their last game against SRH is a chance to play for pride and give fans a good ending to a tough campaign.
