ISRO had launched the Spadex mission with PSLV-C-60 rocket a day earlier. This was a successful launch from the space center of Sriharikota. It is expected that the docking process will probably be completed on January 7.

ISRO launched the NVS-01 navigation satellite in May 2023. NVS-01 is the first of the second-generation satellites for Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) services. The navigation system will be further strengthened with the NVS-02 mission.
