Kagiso Rabada Ruled Out of South Africa vs Australia ODI Series
South Africa’s pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada has been sidelined from the three-match ODI series against Australia starting Tuesday. Cricket South Africa confirmed that the 30-year-old is dealing with inflammation in his right ankle.

Kagiso Rabada's Injury update revealed
According to CSA, Rabada underwent scans on Monday, which confirmed the injury. He will remain in Australia and begin rehabilitation under the Proteas’ medical staff to recover in time for future assignments.
Maphaka steps in
Teen sensation Kwena Maphaka has been named as Rabada’s replacement. The 19-year-old left-arm pacer was outstanding in the T20I series, grabbing nine wickets in three matches. With two ODI caps already, he could feature in the playing XI straight away.
Brevis set for debut
Exciting batter Dewald Brevis is likely to make his ODI debut after a remarkable T20I series. He smashed a 41-ball century in Darwin and followed it with a fiery half-century in Cairns, finishing as the highest run-scorer with 180 runs across both teams.
Bavuma makes comeback
South Africa’s ODI skipper Temba Bavuma returns after recovering from a hamstring injury he sustained during the ICC World Test Championship final. He confirmed he will bat at number three, behind openers Ryan Rickelton and Aiden Markram.
Squad strengthened
For the ODI leg, South Africa has added five players: Bavuma, veteran spinner Keshav Maharaj, all-rounder Wiaan Mulder, and top-order batters Matthew Breetzke and Tony de Zorzi. The series begins in Cairns, with the next two matches scheduled in Mackay.
