Kolkata Murder Case: IMA Called for 24 Hours Strike Victim Father Want Justice
Doctor Murder: CBI team again visited the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on Saturday. Many allegations which includes tampering of evidence are being leveled against the RG Kar Hospital administration after the night of violence. Recently, news has come that 42 doctors of the hospital have been transferred after the night of violence. Not only this, there is also news of promotion of 32 doctors. At the same time, it is being told that 10 doctors have been posted at a far location. However there is a wave of anger in the whole country after the rape and murder of a trainee female doctor of Kolkata's RG Kar Hospital. IMA Called for 24 hour strike
In the meanwhile IMA has started a 24-hour strike from 6 am on Saturday to 6 am on Sunday till18 August in protest against the rape of the female doctor. However, emergency services will continue. On the other hand. The victim doctor's parents said that their daughter's colleagues were also involved in the murder. The CBI has made a list of 35 intern doctors and issued notices to them. Interrogation is expected for today; however IMA put 4 demands as follows-
- IMA demanded proper arrangements for working and rest of resident doctors.
- IMA will include new amendments in a central act Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 in the proposed Hospital Protection Bill of 2019. This will strengthen the existing laws in 25 states. Demand to re-implement the rule implemented during the Covid-19 epidemic.
- Demand to identify and give strict punishment to those who vandalized RG Kar Hospital on the night of August 14.
- IMA demanded to make rules for CCTV cameras, deployment of security personnel and following protocol. Also, the association demanded proper and respectable compensation to the victim's family.
Impact on medical services in Rajasthan due to strike.
After the Indian Medical Association (IMA) called for a one-day strike in protest against the rape and murder of a resident female doctor in West Bengal, medical services in Rajasthan were also affected on Saturday.
