Liquor scam: CBI opposed medical bail, Kejriwal can be treated in jail
Delhi Liquor scam: The bail plea of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested in the liquor policy scam, is to be heard in the Supreme Court today But before the hearing, CBI had presented its second argument last week on the petition challenging Kejriwal's arrest.
CBI has opposed in granting bail
However the CBI has opposed granting interim medical bail to Kejriwal. the investigating agency said that Kejriwal can be provided treatment in jail too. Delhi CM does not have the right to equality like co-accused in view of his role, law was not violated in his arrest. While the bail granted to the co-accused Manish Sisodia in same case will have no effect on the petition.
He can be treated in jail
In the petition for interim bail based on medical ground the CBI said, According to the jail rules and manual, treatment can be done in Tihar Jail Hospital or any of its referral hospitals. This is already being done.' The CBI has said in its argument that there is no case for Kejriwal to be released on medical bail. Whereas medical bail should be granted only when treatment is not possible in jail.
Decisions taken at the behest of Kejriwal
Delhi CM is involved in the criminal conspiracy to make and implement the Excise Policy 2021-22.There for decisions taken at the behest of Kejriwal, the CBI further said, 'Kejriwal's influence and dominance is clear, he has influence on any or all decisions of not only the Delhi government but also AAP. Being the Chief Minister and party supremo, all decisions of the government and the party are taken on his consent and instructions.

He is trying to politically sensationalise the matter.
However the CBI said thatKejriwal is trying to sensationalise the matter. Kejriwal already had an idea in his mind about the objective to be achieved through the policy. Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy (MSR) showed his interest in the new excise policy, Kejriwal assured him of support. Kejriwal had asked MSR to contact K. Kavitha as she was working on the excise policy with Kejriwal team. While he also asked Reddy to provide financial assistance to his Party in the Goa election.
Crores sent through hawala
The guest house in Delhi where the South Group meeting was held was booked by Kejriwal PA Bibhav Kumar. A total of Rs 44.54 crore was sent from Delhi to Goa through hawala, which was used to meet the election expenses of the Aam Aadmi Party during the Goa Assembly Elections 2021-22. It was only on July 14, 2022, that Manish Sisodia's decisions were approved by the Cabinet, which was again chaired by Kejriwal.
