Maha Kumbh 2025: President Draupadi Murmu Takes Holy Dip at Sangam, Prays for Nation’s Growth
President Draupadi Murmu visited Prayagraj on Monday to take part in the religious rituals of Maha Kumbh 2025. She was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Sacred Dip at Sangam
The President took a holy dip at the Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers. This ritual holds immense spiritual significance in Hindu culture, symbolizing purification and devotion.
Visit to Akshayvat and Saraswati Koop
After the holy dip, President Murmu visited Akshayvat, an ancient sacred tree believed to be a symbol of immortality. She also went to Saraswati Koop, a revered well associated with Goddess Saraswati. These sites hold deep religious importance and are mentioned in various Hindu scriptures.
Prayers at Bade Hanuman Temple
At the Bade Hanuman Temple, President Draupadi Murmu prayed for the well-being and prosperity of the country. The temple’s head priest, Mahant Balbir Giri, conducted the rituals and gifted her a replica of the temple as a token of respect.
Exploring Digital Maha Kumbh Experience Centre
President Murmu appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in blending religious traditions with modern technology. She visited the Digital Maha Kumbh Experience Centre, which offers an interactive and immersive insight into the grandeur of Maha Kumbh through advanced technology. This initiative aims to enhance the experience of devotees and showcase the spiritual significance of the event globally.
