Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024: Congress Announces Second List of Candidates
As the Maharashtra Assembly elections approach, the Congress party has released its second list of candidates for 23 seats. This announcement comes as part of their preparations for the upcoming polls scheduled for November 20.

In this latest list, Congress has nominated several candidates, including:

- Swati Sandeep Wakekar from Jalgaon

This follows their first list, which included candidates for 48 seats and was released shortly after the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance announced its plan to contest 85 seats each in the elections.
Maha Vikas Aghadi Alliance
The Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition comprises three major parties: Congress, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and Shiv Sena (UBT). Recently, the alliance unveiled a seat-sharing formula for a total of 255 constituencies, with each party allocated 85 seats. Other parties like the Samajwadi Party, PWP, and CPI will also receive some seat allocations.

Notable candidates from the second list include:
- Anuja Kedar, the wife of MLA Sunil Kedar, running from Savner. Sunil Kedar was recently disqualified following a conviction in a corruption case.
- Girish Pandey, a senior leader nominated from Nagpur South.
- Hemant Ogale, nominated from Shrirampur, while Lahu Kanade has been dropped from that seat.
