Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Hospitalized Due to Health Concerns
Maharashtra's Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, was taken to a hospital in Thane after his health failed to improve. Doctors have advised a comprehensive medical examination. Shinde has been suffering from a throat infection and fever for over a week.
After leaving the hospital, Shinde reassured the media, stating that he was feeling much better and "all good."
Trip to Native Village
Last Friday, Shinde visited his native village, Dare, in Satara district. The visit came amid rumors suggesting his dissatisfaction with the formation of the new government. However, Shinde clarified that the purpose of his trip was simply to rest after a busy election campaign. While there, his fever became more severe, prompting him to seek medical attention.
Preparations for New Government Swearing-In
Preparations for the swearing-in ceremony of Maharashtra’s new Mahayuti government are progressing rapidly, with the event scheduled to take place on December 5 at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan . Prime Minister Narendra Modi is anticipated to be present at the event.
Devendra Fadnavis, a prominent BJP leader, is widely seen as the leading candidate for the Chief Minister's position. However, the final decision will be made after the BJP legislature party meets on December 4.
Alliance Leaders Address Rumors of Discontent
BJP leader Girish Mahajan visited Shinde on Monday to inquire about his health. Mahajan assured the public that there were no conflicts within the Mahayuti alliance.
Mahajan informed the media that during their discussion, they focused on the preparations for the December 5 swearing-in ceremony. He also emphasized that there were no conflicts between the alliance leaders.
He further mentioned that he had visited Shinde, who had been unwell for a few days, and clarified that there was no displeasure or disagreements. The two leaders had a productive conversation about the upcoming ceremony, and Mahajan stressed the importance of working together for the state’s progress. They both agreed on the need to focus on the state's development.
