Ladki Bahin Yojana Scheme Benefits Explained
Under the Ladki Bahin Yojana, women aged 21–65 years with an annual family income of less than Rs.2.5 lakh receive a monthly assistance of Rs.1,500. The scheme was launched in July 2024 and currently supports 2.25 crore women across the state.
Easy Online Verification
Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare announced that the e-KYC facility is available on the official portal — ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in. She urged beneficiaries to complete the process within the next two months to ensure smooth transfer of funds.
Yearly Verification Needed
According to the GR, Aadhaar-based authentication must be done not just once but every year. Failure to complete e-KYC will lead to withholding of benefits. This move is aimed at maintaining transparency and preventing ineligible claims.
Tackling Fake Beneficiaries
The government recently revealed that around 26.34 lakh ineligible individuals, including men, had enrolled and availed benefits. The compulsory e-KYC process is expected to weed out such cases and ensure rightful beneficiaries continue receiving support.
Benefits Beyond This Scheme
Minister Tatkare also added that the verified e-KYC data will help women easily access other government schemes in the future, making welfare distribution more efficient and transparent.
