Maharashtra Leads in Hurun India List: The Hurun India Rich List 2024 reveals an expanded wealth distribution across various Indian states, showing significant increases in wealthy individuals since 2020. States like Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan now feature 40, 36, and 28 ultra-wealthy individuals, respectively, indicating robust economic growth beyond major metropolitan areas. New entrants to the list include Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Jharkhand, and Uttarakhand, further showcasing economic expansion across India.

Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal’s Growth

Karnataka ranks sixth, with 108 wealthy individuals, up from 72 in 2020, driven by Bengaluru's thriving IT and start-up sectors. Tamil Nadu, with a strong manufacturing base, has increased its number of wealthy individuals to 119 from 65 in 2020. West Bengal has also seen growth, doubling its count to 70 entries due to Kolkata's expanding business environment.

Telangana and Gujarat: Technology and Industrial Hubs

Telangana’s wealthiest increased from 54 in 2020 to 109, largely due to Hyderabad's booming technology sector. Gujarat ranks third with 129 entries, up from 60 in 2020, reflecting its reputation for thriving industries in diamonds, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals.

Top Two States: Delhi and Maharashtra

Delhi stands second on the list, with 213 wealthy individuals, up from 128 in 2020. Maharashtra remains at the top, with 470 individuals, nearly doubling from 248 in 2020, owing largely to Mumbai's financial influence.
