Migrant Labourer Shot in Pulwama: In a suspected militant attack, a migrant labourer from Uttar Pradesh was shot in the Tral area of Pulwama district, Jammu & Kashmir, on the morning of October 24.
The victim, Shubham Kumar, a migrant labourer from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, was shot in the arm by suspected militants in Batagund village, Pulwama. He was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, no other casualties were reported, and no cartridge was found at the crime scene. Authorities are continuing their investigation and more details are awaited.
Series of Attacks on Non-Local Labourers
This is the third attack on non-local laborers in Kashmir in the past week. On Sunday, October 20, six migrant labourers and a local doctor were killed at a construction site in the Ganderbal district when terrorists stormed a worker's camp along the Srinagar-Leh National Highway and opened fire. Another laborer from Bihar was killed in Shopian on October 18.
Emerging Clues in Ganderbal Attack
In the Ganderbal attack case, CCTV footage has emerged showing two terrorists clad in "pheran" (traditional Kashmiri cloaks) entering a hut at the construction site where the attack occurred. The militant seen in the footage was armed with an AK rifle with a distinctive blue marking on the muzzle. However, investigators are still working to confirm whether this individual was responsible for the killings.
Victims' Families Speak Out
The families of the victims, particularly the sole breadwinners in their households, are devastated. Many of these migrant laborers came to Jammu & Kashmir seeking work to support their families, who now face an uncertain future.
