Mumbai Mitra newspaper group recently hosted the prize distribution ceremony for its 25th annual writing competition. The event, held on Sunday, recognized 51 winners across different categories, including essay writing, poetry, story writing, and Ganpati pandal decoration. The awards were presented by MLA Dr. Bharati Lavekar in a grand celebration.

Political Leaders Grace the Event

Several prominent political figures from North Mumbai attended the ceremony, including BJP Mumbai general secretary Sunilji Rane, BJP Mumbai secretary Vinod Shelar, Goregaon MLA Vidyatai Thakur, Vasai-Virar’s first mayor Raju Patil, and former corporator Kamlesh Yadav.

A Special Theatrical Performance

As a tribute to World Theatre Day, which falls on March 27, a play titled Kshitijacha Palikade was performed by child artists under the direction of Varsha Rane. The play conveyed an important message against bullying and emphasized the importance of friendships.

Mumbai Mitra’s Contribution to Society

During the event, Raju Patil praised the efforts of Mumbai Mitra’s editorial team, led by Anagha Rane and Abhijeet Rane, for their work in inspiring young minds through their four newspapers in Marathi and Hindi. MLA Vidyatai Thakur reminisced about her first meeting with Abhijeet Rane during her election campaign in 1992, when he was a child. The leaders appreciated the group’s dedication to uplifting marginalized communities over the past 25 years.

A Tribute to Bhagat Singh

On the occasion of Bhagat Singh’s death anniversary, Sunilji Rane encouraged the young audience to take inspiration from the freedom fighter and develop a strong sense of patriotism.
