Mumbai Weather Update: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a high tide warning from Thursday, July 24, to Sunday, July 27. Citizens have been urged to avoid beaches, especially on Saturday when waves are expected to rise up to 4.67 metres.

Wave Heights Expected to Peak Over the Weekend

According to BMC data, Thursday will see waves up to 4.57 metres around 11:57 AM. Heights are expected to increase on Friday to 4.66 metres at 12:40 PM, and on Sunday, waves could hit 4.60 metres around 2 PM. Authorities are asking residents to remain vigilant and avoid venturing near the coastline.

City Soaked by Over 300 mm Rainfall in Three Days

As of 8 AM Thursday, Mumbai recorded heavy rainfall across the city. The eastern suburbs received the most, averaging 48 mm in 24 hours, followed by 41 mm in the west and 33 mm in the island city. Cumulatively, the city has seen nearly 300 mm of rainfall since Monday.

Orange Alert in Mumbai, Red Alert in Raigad & Ratnagiri

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall. Red alerts have been sounded for Raigad and Ratnagiri for the next two days due to potential extreme weather conditions.
