Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the Union Budget 2025-2026 in Parliament. The Finance Minister said, National High Yield Seed Mission will be run. Research, high yield, more than 100 varieties of seeds will be made available to farmers.

More than 100 varieties of seeds will be made available to farmers

The Finance Minister said, National High Yield Seed Mission will be implemented. 7.7 crore farmers get short-term loan facility through Kisan Credit Card. For self-sufficiency in urea production, production has been started in urea plant in Assam. A plant with a capacity of 12.78 lakh metric tonnes will be set up in it.

Earlier she said, our focus is on health and employment. The government will focus on reforms. Work on agricultural schemes will continue. The economy is being accelerated under the leadership of PM Modi.

'Next five years for development...'

She said, this is the budget of developed India. Our goal is to give economic strength to women. Our goal is to increase the development of the country. India is the country with the fastest growing economy. Emphasis is being laid on additional assistance to rural women and youth. Our government is emphasizing on increasing agricultural production. The next five years are an opportunity for development.

An announcement has also been made in the budget for Makhana farmers of Bihar. Makhana Board will be formed. Dhanya Dhanya Yojana is also being started in 100 districts. This scheme has been started in districts with low yield. Farmers will be given proper compensation for farming.

Emphasis has been laid on self-reliance in pulses production. Fish production will also be promoted. Improvements are also being made in the financial sector. The government is also focusing on tur, urad and masoor dal. Loans up to Rs 5 lakh will be given for dairy and fisheries.

A limit of Rs 10 crore has been fixed for startups. The loan limit in Kisan Credit Card will also be fixed at Rs 5 lakh. Farmers will get loans at cheap interest. Urea factory will be set up for farmers. Cotton Production Mission has also been announced. Cotton farmers will be given a 5-year package.

Modi cabinet was held in Parliament

Earlier, when the Finance Minister started reading the budget, opposition members initially raised slogans in the House. Before the budget, a meeting of the Modi cabinet was held in Parliament, in which the Union Budget was approved. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting her 8th budget.

MSME credit guarantee cover for micro enterprises will be increased from Rs 5 crore to Rs 10 crore, providing additional Rs 1.5 lakh crore credit over the next 5 years.
