NCP Announces First List of Candidates for Maharashtra Assembly Elections
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has released its first list of 38 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra state assembly elections, scheduled for November 20, 2024. This announcement was made on Wednesday, featuring prominent party members.
Key Candidates from NCP
- Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, will contest from Baramati.
- Senior NCP leader Chaggan Singh Bhujbal is set to run from the Yeola seat.
- Other notable candidates include:
- Dilip Walse Patil from Ambegaon
- Hasan Mushrif from Kagal
Former Congress MLAs Join NCP
The list includes several former Congress MLAs who have recently joined the NCP:
- Hiraman Khoskar will contest from Igatpuri.
- Shulbha Khodke is nominated from Amravati. Khodke was expelled from the Congress on October 12, while Khoskar joined the NCP on the night of October 14.
Shiv Sena’s Candidate List
In parallel, the Shiv Sena faction led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has released its first list of 45 candidates for the state assembly elections. CM Shinde will contest from the Kopri-Pachpakhadi Assembly constituency. The list includes:
- Manisha Ravindra Waykar from Jogeshwari (East)
- Suhas Dwarkanath Kande from Nandgao
- Pradip Shivnarayan Jaiswal from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Middle)
- Balaji Devidasrao Kalyankar from Nanded North
While announcing the candidates, CM Shinde expressed confidence in the Mahayuti alliance, stating, “This is the first list for the Maharashtra Assembly election. The next list will come, and then we will contest the elections and win with a big majority.”
BJP’s Candidate Announcement
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), also part of the Mahayuti alliance, has released its first list of 99 candidates for the assembly elections. This list includes:
- Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy Chief Minister, will represent the Nagpur South West constituency in the state assembly elections.
- BJP state president Chandrashekhar Krishnarao Bawankule will contest from the Kamthi seat.

Election Details
The Maharashtra Assembly Elections will be held on November 20, 2024, in 288 constituencies across the state. The vote counting and results of the state assembly polls will be announced on November 23, 2024.
