Noida Police have arrested six people for defrauding NRIs, by offering OTT subscriptions
NRI Fraud In The Name Of OTT Subscriptions: Noida Police have arrested six people for defrauding NRIs living abroad by offering subscriptions to Indian, Pakistani, and other countries' OTT platforms through online channels. This gang would create exact copies of the content from legitimate OTT platforms and sell them as subscriptions at discounted prices.

After some time, the subscriptions would be deactivated, and the victims would be repeatedly asked for money to reactivate them. The gang charged between $100 and $300 for each subscription.
Police apprehend cunning fraudsters, recover large quantities of equipment
These accused operated a company called 'Web Biz Service LLC' in the Phase-1 area of Noida. Based on available data, they contacted NRIs through internet calls and provided them with fake OTT channels and subscriptions.

Duping Victims by Selling Copies of Netflix and Amazon Content
The arrested individuals have been identified as Tanishka, Anil Baghel, Manish Kumar Tripathi, Gaurav, Radha Ballabh, and Yogesh Baghel. They are all approximately between 20 and 30 years old. Police recovered 20 mobile phones, 5 CPUs, 5 computer monitors, a laptop, 6 keyboards, and other equipment from their possession.
OTT Platforms Whose Subscriptions Were Offered:
Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, Amazon Prime, Zee5, Voot Select, SonyLIV, ALTBalaji, MX Player, JioCinema, HBO, Hulu, and Movies on Demand, including recently released films. They captured and distributed the content of all these platforms without any license.
